took my e30 to silver star this morning. they diagnosed the tic as being ether a broken piston skirt or a broken wrist pin and the sound they think is piston slap. I'm a little sad, but the car does have 213k so I'll be looking for a new engine in the next couple of weeks. an m20 would be optimal, especially if someone has a good 2.7 block laying around for a stroker build ;). but I would entertain good deals on an m50 or an s50.

also, when it comes swap time I no longer have a garage so I'd love to be able to pay somebody for potential labor and tool usage.

thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

I have an m54 with trans for $500, not what you listed but I'd be a great swap. ...m54b25, trying to get my cat out of my driveway as soon as I can

Bump. Still looking for something. Finally got around to dismantling the engine and I believe I have a head gasket leak, unforunately. I think my motor may be beyond repair at this point. Going to dig some more tonight but I would love to find an M20 to pop in so I can get to driving for summer!
