So I decided to make the baffle board much more shallow, allowing for more trunk space... That is half the reason I'm doing IB anyway.

I know it's not cut right, I cut it to my original plan and decided to change it but didn't have enough cardboard to re-cut

And this will be the layout

We'll see how long this plan stays in motion. Lol

I could've got a 150.6, but didn't for a few different reasons. 1, it's a $2k+ amp which is what I paid for the three I have. 2, it would've been severely underpowered for my midbass drivers, which causes excessive heat and distortion and 3, you run the risk of channel "bleeding".

So it might have saved some room to do it that way, but probly wouldn't have sounded as good and wouldn't have saved me any substantial amount of cash.

Thanks man, I'm excited to see how it turns out too.
I try not to pay attention to all the naysayers, but I respect all the members opinions here. People might disagree or not understand why I'm doing what I'm doing, they will when they hear it tho. Lol

More progress on the baffle while I wait for the glue to dry before gassing.

Reinforcement/trim rings

Threaded inserts

The inserts hold tight, was able to wrench on them pretty good. But I'll wait to glue the rings on until I get the baffle and subs installed to see how much force I can comfortably put on it.

A jasper circle jig and a plunge router. They were tricky, you have to cut 98% of the outside ring, then cut the center hole, then go back with a jigsaw to cut the little tab that holds the ring to the sheet.

Got the rear shelf deadened/sealed, gonna use expanding foam to seal all the large voids and cavities. Also got the baffle glassed, had to heat my resin before applying, but it's not 100% dry yet and is crazy sturdy.

Got the carpet out and started removing the stock 0ga (maybe smaller) wire.... What a nightmare! The conductor that goes through the firewall is a solid 1/4" piece of copper that snakes through all complicated. But I got it, gonna put a stud on it for my 2/0 I'll be running while I wait for rivnuts to get here so I can do the baffle brackets.

Got my 4ga-4/0 crimper and some fuse blocks

Image

Also just bought black carpet and door panels that I'll be using for the final door build. Full black interior will come later, or I'll try my hand at dyeing.

Rivnuts installed for the baffle board

Brackets, there'll be a total of 8-10 planned so far

I only have 4 installed right now and it is stout for sure.

It is rigid! Gonna add 2 more brackets, for the peace of mind, for a total of 10. I push/pulled on the sub magnet/baskets, rocked the whole car and didn't see any flex.

Just out of curiosity is there some space for air between the seats and the subs? I remember Doug telling me I had to mount mine rearward facing because the subs didn't have enough space in front of them for the air to move properly... The angle should help with that though... Mine was designed to match the angle of the rear seat wall. It may be worth testing with the seats up real quick, I know its not wired at all yet but it might be worth hooking it up somehow.

There's a good 4-6" of gap between the subs and seats at the closest point. They'll vent through the ski pass which is about the centered in between the two. I'll close the seat and take a picture through one of the holes.
